Archive and Library

Archive

ISRSEC has an important archive of documents from the history of the 1900s. The most important part consists of letters, reports, reports, photographs and testimonies from the period of fascism and the war of liberation. Documents shall be open to consultation free of charge with the permission of the Director.

Library

The Library, founded in 1990, has gradually expanded and collected numerous donations from individuals and institutions, enriching its catalogue also through regular and continuous acquisitions. Today it is a library specialized in contemporary history open to the public, integrated into the Sienese REDOS cataloguing system, while with the OPAC SBN it is possible to access the catalogue of the National Library Service. It then has available catalogues in hard copy and electronic format (Aleph 500). It currently has about 4000 volumes plus 7000 volumes and brochures made available by ASMOS. The library collects and preserves, in particular, texts relating to the history of Siena during and after the years of fascism and those after the Liberation, donated by the Sienese Provincial Federation of the PCI and the individual sections together with archival documentation at the time of the founding of ASMOS.
